When I started to work for consumer organizations, I quickly recognized that an important precondition to influence legislation is credible evidence which underpins our demands.

Öko-Institut, through its mission and joint projects has helped BEUC reliably since many years to be a game changer at Brussels level for the benefit of consumers and the environment.

I hope that Öko-Institut will prosper for the next 40 years and beyond as sophisticated research and sound political consulting are even more important in a political climate where some people believe that facts do not matter and policies can be made with feelings.
